Deep Tissue Massage is designed to target tension in the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. This type of massage is effective for releasing chronic stress areas caused by misalignment, repetitive motions, and past injuries. It's important to note that you may experience some muscle soreness after this treatment. While this treatment can be uncomfortable at times, it should not be painful.
Integrative Massage is a gentle and mindful method that works through the layers of muscle slowly. This calming technique uses superficial pressure to overlap joints, promoting a sense of integration and wholeness throughout the body.
Lymphatic Massage is a gentle and rhythmic technique that helps move lymph through the body. It can be used both as a preventative measure and as a remedial technique for various purposes, including detoxification, boosting the immune system, and promoting faster recovery from injuries and surgeries. Please note that if you are recovering from a surgery or serious injury, it is mandatory that your doctor clears you for massage first. To work with the lymphatic system, lymph massage must be performed slowly using very light pressure.
Strain Counterstrain is a technique that is commonly used in physical therapy, but the modified version I offer can be done on a massage table. This method involves the practitioner identifying trigger points (tender points) and applying moderate pressure to them while simultaneously shortening the muscle. This helps the muscle to relax and release tension, providing relief from pain and discomfort.
Specific Injury Treatment is a targeted massage technique that focuses on "problem areas" to promote healing. The majority of the massage is concentrated on the sore spots, surrounding muscles, and their attachment points. This modality is effective not only for treating injuries such as tendonitis and whiplash but also for addressing chronically sore, tight, or stiff areas.
Swedish massage is typically thought of as a light, slow, and relaxing massage since it involves little to no deep tissue work. While it is relaxing, Swedish massage is traditionally known to be brisk and invigorating! It can be used to increase circulation and energy. This faster-paced massage is great for poor circulation (cold hands and feet), detoxification, and stress relief.
